FAQ
Questions, answered
01Is Finnotes a mobile money wallet?
No. Finnotes records and reconciles the mobile money business you already operate. It never executes transactions with telecom providers — it is the management, accounting and reporting layer that sits alongside your operations.
02Which providers does it support?
MTN Mobile Money and Zain Money out of the box, plus a generic provider. The platform is built around a provider abstraction, so adding a new mobile money operator in any country in future is a configuration change, not a rewrite.
03What happens if my internet connection drops mid-transaction?
The app is designed for unreliable connectivity. Transactions use idempotency keys, so retrying a request never creates a duplicate entry. PWA support, local caching and a clear network indicator are built into the product vision.
04Can a completed transaction be edited or deleted?
No. Completed transactions are immutable. Corrections are made through a documented reversal flow that creates a compensating ledger entry, so your audit trail always stays complete and trustworthy.
05Who can see what?
Every action is authorized server-side by role, and there are exactly two. The Agency sees every branch and the whole agency picture, but only reads it: it can open a branch and create the login that runs it, and cannot record, void or adjust a single transaction. A branch runs its own books day to day — recording transactions, reconciling shifts, managing their customers and viewing their own settings and billing — with no visibility of any other branch.
06How secure is my financial data?
Passwords are hashed, sessions are secure and HttpOnly, every financial mutation runs inside a database transaction, and every important action is written to an audit log you can review.
